Dear BITP Friends,

I want to thank you for your incredible support of Broadway In The Park these past several years. Thousands of South Bay families have experienced affordable theatre in the park (many for the first time ever!), and hundreds of local children and youth have directly benefited through our partnership with worthy arts programs. It's been a wonderful journey that I've cherished deeply, but now the time has come for a new chapter.

Our leadership team and board of directors have decided to conclude Broadway In The Park. Producing this kind of event is very expensive. We are all volunteers and our team has donated tens of thousands of hours and dollars to make ends meet on our program. While I would love to be able to continue pursuing what I believe to be a worthy vision, the business model is not sustainable for the long haul.

In a world where most theatre programs fall into debt and close suddenly, disenfranchising their patrons, I am grateful to report that we are wrapping up with no outstanding debt to patrons or vendors. We planned from the beginning for this company to operate in a way that would draw people toward the arts, never push them away.

While I know this decision will be felt as a loss within the South Bay community, I choose to think of it like a good television series... we've had five great seasons and it's just the right time for this particular series to end. But guess what? The team that brought you BITP still lives in El Segundo, we still love the arts like crazy, and we look forward to the next great community project on the horizon.

So thank you for taking this journey with us. I appreciate your time, contribution, and patronage of BITP. I could not have done this without you. Keep supporting the arts and artists in the South Bay and let's keep the flame burning bright... working together to make our community an amazing place to live!

Onward and upward,
